Merging Price book items

We have two items that were entered in our price book that are the same item however they were entered at different times with slightly different descriptions. is there a way to merge the two PB items so that we can keep all the history on one item.

Unfortunately not. Your best option, only from what information you have provided, is to make on the items inactive. The historical records will still exist, but it wont be used for any further transactions, as it doesn't appear in search. You also might change the the description to ensure its not used again.
