Source vs. Lead Source

On a new quote there is a "source" field. There is also an option for "Require Source On Opportunites" in options.

What is the difference?
If we use the latter that source that is chosen does not appear in the source field of the quote?

Opportunities came after quotes were implemented. So, you can put an source on a quote if you wish, but many companies (Tigerpaw included), like to track the source at the opportunity level. In your case, are you create the opportunity before creating the quote?

Hello, I'd like to request an enhancement to require a source for all quotes, which could be under tools -> options -> quotes and opportunities, on the Quotes tab. Add a checkbox option to require a source for all quotes.

We want to require a selection for all quotes. There are numerous times where opportunities are not needed for quick sales, but we still want to track the source of the sale. Thank you
