  • Finding account duplicates

Is there an easy way to search and find duplicate accounts (either by name, address, phone etc) and then clean up those duplicates? We have quite a few accounts in our database, and I do not have time to manually search for each of these fields individually?

There is a utility within Tigerpaw (Tools > Utilities > General Utilities) that merges duplicate accounts however it doesn't provide a vetting option and just goes ahead and merges the accounts based on Account Name and 2 other parameters. An SQL script would be the easiest way to display the duplicate accounts, dump that into an Excel, review and tidy the data, then run the utility to merge the accounts or manually merge each duplication (Edit > Merge with another account)

Another option would be to export from Tigerpaw List View or Matrix into Excel, run the option there to check for dupes, and then modify back in Tigerpaw manually. Saves the SQL if you aren't SQL saavy.
