  • Service Order Status changing when opened

    How are others dealing with the fact that a Service Orders change status to Open when the Service Order is time stamped as open?


    We use the Service Order status for many other things such as parts need ordering, goods need to be delivered and parts have been back ordered to name a few. When a tech puts the first time log on the Service Order it changes the Status to Open resulting in this Service Order loosing attention.

    Hi Erle,

    Go into your service order options, on the preferences tab check to see if you have the option checked for "First time log opens an unopened service order". If it is, uncheck it ans save the new option choices by clicking OK. This should prevent the orders from changing statuses when your techs enter time against the orders.

      Thanks Marsha,
      I am aware of that setting but if we do that the service order will not be time stamped as open and therefore SLA reporting will be affected.
