  • Inventory Levels for all Locations

    Folks,

I was very surprised to discover today - the inventory levels (minimum) only apply to the total across all warehouses.

I was really expecting each location to have its own minimums.

In our case, each field tech has their own truck inventory - and we want to know when things get low in each given truck, so we can replenish / transfer.

If they each had their own minimums, we could generate a workflow when an item fell low in any given inventory location.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Jeff,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have passed this along to our programmers.

This would be a great addition to Tiger Paw. We do the same thing. Each Tech has an inventory location and we have to use a "home made" software to create a Standard inventory and compare the Tech location to the standard.

      This would be much appreciated.

This is an old thread, but has anything been added to any recent versions to track separate inventory locations? We have always had 3 locations - Warehouse, Van1 & Van2, but we haven't really done much by way of monitoring the inventory levels in the vans for replenishment. Our techs just grabbed parts from the warehouse as needed, causing a huge cluster when it came time to do physical inventories. We plan on fixing that problem ASAP. If TP hasn't been modified to accommodate tracking the separate locations, does anyone have any suggestions for an easy way to do so? Ideally, since we now have a dedicated warehouse employee, we'd like to him to be able to print a weekly report showing which items need replenishing per van based on what is left after the techs have filled the items to the proper SOs. Will setting min/max levels trigger anything, or are they still covering the overall inventory counts of all locations?

We use the "Inventory Count WorkSheet by location" report (which we had customized to include items that are reserved - the default of this report did not at one point - not sure about now.

We run that once per week and then compare what it should be, with what it is (per location) - and restock them that way. That works pretty well.

Lately, we added a once per month physical inventory to the process as well, again, per the Van locations.

            I hope that helps.

            Thanks,
            Jeff

Is there any future plan to be able to have minimum levels set for individual warehouse locations and to be able to set up workflow events to trigger low inventory by warehouse location rather than all warehouses totalled together. We have multiple warehouse locations and this feature would help immensely. We currently look at inventory locations invidivually and order accordingly. A workflow would be nice.

                  *bump

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't think this is available yet? (Using v14.1.15) I was trying to setup a workflow to notify me when a pricebook item quantity on hand for a single location falls below the minimum quantity. I'm not seeing anywhere in the workflow, where the locations can be setup or even how to set the parameters. We want it to work so that when QuantityOnHand <= MinimumQty for any/all given itemids (with a minimumQty defined) a notification email can be sent. This would really help us stay on top of our inventory and make sure that we are maintaining the minimums.
