  • Inactive Inventory items from quotes - permitted to convert to a service order

Tigerpaw has a box in the set up that permits us to not allow inactive inventory items to be placed on service orders. This feature works.
However, if a user is using the Toshiba quote tool, and happen to add an item that is inactive in our Tigerpaw price book, it allows the item to be converted onto the Tigerpaw Quote and Service order. Either their should be something that does not allow this, or a warning send to a system administrator. Sometimes it is a part that has been slightly changed, and there is a new number. But either way an inactive item is an inactive item and Tigerpaw should not allow it on a quote or service order. It also does not tax the item. If it happens to be large dollar amount item, it can result in lost revenue, because if found, we still are requited to pay the sales tax.

This happens to us as well. Inactive items should not be allowed on quotes. There should also be a way to search parts by description on the search tab, without having the inactive items show up! You can do that when adding a part on an SO, but not when going to the search tab.

We have a similar problem (I think), with people copying quotes to start a new one (starting with a known quote that is close). If that original quote has now inactive items on it, you do not get any kind of warning notification and then it works its way through the process, onto the SO and shows up when we try to order it from the vendor.

Inactive parts are a HUGE issue for us.....they really aren't all that inactive.
