  • Phantom Inventory

We have been trying to work this one through for a while now...

    Here's the issue:
We have at least one part number in tigerpaw that we cannot manually correct the inventory count on. Our physical count of this inventory is 8 on hand which is correct in Tigerpaw for "Available in location" However tigerpaw still shows that there are 53 of this item in this said location and a total of 139 on hand. I checked the status for different warehouse locations that we have in tigerpaw (52 in one, 33 in another and one in another that is physically available). I have tried a few different tricks but cannot figure out how to get our inventory count correct for this item. Is there any way in tigerpaw to do this or do we need to run a SQL script to delete the item and re-add it?

The numbers match up in the LIFO Pool but since the Qty Available in location is less than or 0 we cannot manually correct the inventory.

If you go to the movement log of the item itself, where are the rest located? They may be in staging (not invoiced yet) which would show them still in inventory? You can also go to the "On Hand" icon in the top right corner of part number in the "Inventory Quantities" box. Click the "On Hand" icon, scroll to the location you want to adjust, adjust the quantity by increasing or decreasing, and adjusting cost if needed. This should correct the quantities.

Thanks, However, we have already tried all of that, and there's far too many movement logs to actually go through all of them (Dating back to 2009)TigerPaw001.PNG

You didn't mention that this problem is on a serialized item. This type of problem can be caused by someone changing the item from serialized to non-serialized, and making inventory transactions. This causes the detail file - 8 serials in your case, to not match the summary location table - your 53. Look in the Help for the Database Utility Overview to run the Clean Up the Database (IClean) utility. This utility does a lot of corrections to the database, and will create a log for you to use to make manual corrections.
Look in the Audit Log for the Audit Action 'Changed Serialized Flag' to determine if the serialization statuses are being changed.
